    Canon i-SENSYS MF4450 - Scanner installation

MF4450 is a Laser Multifuncion Printer (USB connected).
In ubuntu 12.04 32bit the printer works, but the scanner is not recognized (using simplescan and xsane I get a "device not found" error).

Canon provides the printer driver "UFRII/UFRII LT Printer Driver for Linux v2.70" but no support is given for the scanner. Please, help!

From what I am seeing online you are in some deep water as most are describing there experience with that printer under linux as a "nightmare". On the upside I found a guide people where claiming to work, it is really long so I am not going to rewrite it but just post the link, you work through it and the best of luck to you. Oh and a word of advice for the next printer you buy, get an Hp you will have better luck and experience. Here is the link and the best to you....
