With only some slight modifications, (which btw I am an uber-noob with Linux, have only had it for like two days), it worked smashingly. I am excited. I missed my back button and now its finally working. Thank you so much for finding this and sharing. The lazy of world salute you and thank you. I owe you one.

    Code:
    Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Configured Mouse"
        Driver "evdev"
        Option "CorePointer"
Option "Name" "Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse"
    EndSection
My man, this worked great for me... looks like setting the mouse up is even easier now since you dont need to hassle with edev rules. Even lomoco is in the repositories, so no compilation is needed.

You should update the guide with this new information

You're welcome. Is there a way to change the title of this thread?

    I have a Logitech MX1000.
I followed your guide step by step (I tried about a dozen others before)

I substituted what you said about tilt wheel mice

    Now:
    Right-click, Left-click and Middle-click work

    Wheel-scroll,
    Tilt-wheel and
    Forward and Back don't work

Page-up&down when pressed scroll just one line at a time

The middle thumb button on the right works

    Can you help?

Tried that, but it only changed the title of the first post, not the whole thread.

With xbindkeys off, what button numbers do you get in xev for the buttons that don't work? (Buttons includes the wheel)
