    Question Kernel 3.13.02 Released

Kernel 3.13.02 was released in an update today. Seems pretty stable. However what I can't firgure out is how the Ubuntu kernel team can put out 3.13.x wwhen I hasn't been released on kernel.org where the latest is rc7 (which you can also find in kernel mainline ppa). When you install rc7 grub thinks its more recent than 3.13 so perhaps it sjust optimistic naming thing??

    Ideas??

    Re: Kernel 3.13.02 Released

Ubuntu's kernel version numbers differ from the vanilla kernel. read the changelog to find out what it's based on.

    Re: Kernel 3.13.02 Released

I found where the changelogs were by Googling back to a very old post on this forum. They don't say why the Ubuntu kernel numbering is different from kernel.org. I'll wait to see when the "offical" kernel 3.13 hits the mainline.
