Taskbar wireless icon always shows "loading"

Hi! I am using 13.10, fork of Gnome 3 (Cinnamon). This question might be more appropriate in "general" but I think you guys might have an idea.

Anyway, my wireless icon always shows the "loading" symbol. The wireless works, but instead of showing the bars that indicate the connection strength it has the three dots. And when I scroll over it, it says "connecting to the wireless network." However, the wireless works fine. It's not a big deal, just annoying.

Any idea what might cause this?

    Thanks.
