HP OfficeJet 4500/CUPS problem

Well I'm also new to Linux, a week, and my situation is similar to that of marc13, I am also thinking of using only Ubuntu 13.10 on my computer, but my wife will have to continue using Windows 7.
For a 56 years old I believe I have done great progress.
I have my HP Officejet 4500 running (installed hplip), shared, I have my shared folders.
But one thing is missing, have a problem, the Cups 1.7 rc1 does not start automatically, I have to access the terminal and start it manually.
I've been looking for solution but not found.
This is the last dependency for me to make the migration to Linux 100%.
Maybe someone can help me.
