Need help with kazam on kali linux

So I am fairly new to Linux OS's. However I understand the basics.
Anyways my problem is this: I want to use kazam on kali linux but Kazam is made for Ubuntu. I have an understanding that Kali Linux is debian based. So I have 2 questions.
    1. Will it work on KL?
    2. If 1 doesn't work how do I install it *note already did tar -xzvf kazam-1.4.3.tar.gz*

Any help / comment is appreciated. Also put in gaming section because I want to record games such as minecraft and anything else I can get to run on linux (which is unfortunately limited).
Also if this has already been posted I apologize sincerely.

First of all why are you using kali if your taking screenshots of games? I dont see the logic behind using penetration testing software for playing games and making movies?

Kazam is not available in the Debian 7 repos.

    You can try this http://linuxtechhowto.blogspot.com/2...on-debian.html

Why you wanna use Kali for gaming etc is beyond me though.
