track pad does not work on laptop keyboard (HP Pavillion DV7-6113cl

Not sure if this is a bug but tapping on my track pad does not work on laptop keyboard (HP Pavillion DV7-6113cl with a AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M 1.4GHz, 6 GB Ram and a AMD Radeon HD 6520G graphics card (memory is shared)). It works with my wireless keyboard. Using left click on laptop keyboard selects/opens a link or button. I thought it was something I changed in settings but after doing a complete format and reinstall still the case
"Tap to Click" is checked in mouse settings

EDIT: Tapping did work with Live Disc , during install and works with WIN7(Dual boot)

Moved to own thread from "Saucy bugs sticky" as workaround / solution not supplied. Therefore this is a support request
