Question People who use both OS X and Linux - which distro for a mostly OS X environment?

For people who use both Mac OS X and Linux, which Linux distro have you found to play the nicest with a mostly OS X environment?

My setup with which I am not completely happy - OS X Mavericks Server (ML, Lion, and SL Server before that) running on a Mac mini with Linux VMs in VMWare Fusion and an eeepc currently running Mint and Lubutnu. I also have a tonidplug 1 and 2 and thinking about a Raspberry Pi.

Disclaimer - not a TOTAL newb, and not looking for use one/not the other responses. Honestly asking for opinions from users of both OSes.

Can you give a concrete example of how you would want a distro to "play nice" with OSX, or how a distro you've tried doesn't play so nice? Linux distros for the most part interoperate with other OS's over standard services, this isn't going to be significantly different between distros.

    journalling

Of the Ubuntus, I find them about the same. The underlying system is the same and the problem there is the lack of journalling support for HFS+ file systems. So any shared partitions need to have journalling turned off, which is not always the best solution.
