Ubuntu over Windows 8

Hi,

Im currently looking for some information regarding Ubuntu installation. I currently have Ubuntu 13.10 installed on External USB Harddrive, and I am really loving it. The main reason I installed it though was because my Uncle had sent me a laptop with Windows 8 on it (which don't get me wrong, I really love) but it had an Admn Password, which he had forgotten and can't provide me with. On top of that I don't have the Installation Disc in order to actually reset the password, so I downloaded Ubuntu (since it was free, and have heard many great things about Ubuntu, and Linux in general) So i've been using Ubuntu for about a month now, and wanting to make the switch. Earlier I had asked if I should just disregard Windows 8, and just install Ubuntu, but people kept telling me dual boot, lower the size of the Windows 8 Partition, and blah blah blah. What im really wanting to do is just use Ubuntu on my laptop. Is there a way that I can go about doing so? Through the disc, or what? Please reply and help me, and I'd greatly appretiate it. Also for those of you out there who are Ubuntu savy, I may have more questions for you in the future.

If you want to install, just install. One of the install options is erase entire drive. Then you lose the entire Windows but have just Ubuntu.
If system was Windows 8 pre-installed you will have choice of UEFI or BIOS boot installs. How you boot installer is how it installs.
