    Upgrade gone wrong

So basically I was using the System Upgrade tool to upgrade to Saucy, and it went fine until I came back to it after a while and the window (the one with the progress bar) was just blank. Just the frame, same shape as before, but the window itself had nothing in it. Being the idiot I am, I figured rebooting would help. Instead of booting up, the computer comes up with this:

    "Filesystem check or mount failed.
A maintenance shell will now be started.
CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and continue booting after re-trying filesystems. Any further errors will be ignored"

Followed by a command prompt. What do I do?
