Taskbar icons are huge when opening an application

I have this odd problem when I open certain programs which have a taskbar icon, some of them open with the icons too big for the taskbar. I do have the taskbar set quite thin but I don't think they should be doing this. It's like the icons are ignoring the size of the taskbar and just showing as the default size.

Here is an example of this:

If I right click on the taskbar and change the row size or number of rows and then change it back to how it was the icons go to the size they should be but it's annoying to have to do this every time I logout.

I'm using xubuntu 12.04 LTS but xfce is updated from the ppa (v4.11 I think?).

Does no one have any idea? It can't be just me that experiences this?

It could be that nobody who uses that version from the PPA is here frequently enough to see this.

    Have you tried forum.xfce.org?

It happens with the default version that is installed with Xubuntu 12.04 as well, I only updated in hope that it might fix this issue.

No, I haven't tried there yet, I will do, thanks.
