Power options-Hibernate on Battery, Wake up on power

I am using a laptop for a Zoneminder camera server... I do have 12.04 LTS and Gnome installed also, just for the desktop atmosphere as when i am in front of the server I watch the cameras from there....

My predicament is.. I am getting ready to leave on vacation for a couple weeks and we live in an area that loses power periodically, so what I want the laptop to be able to do is hibernate or suspend or sleep, (whichever is most power efficient) when it kicks on battery mode, then once AC power is detected, it will wake up and resume. or even if need be just reboot..

ok, so is there no one that can help me with this problem, at least point me in the right direction to get some code or something that i can maybe modify?????????
