Time and date in menu bar

    Hi,

I use (K)Ubuntu 13.10, Gnome Desktop (am new user, not sure about Kubuntu and Ubuntu, during boot Kubuntu is displayed, but for Login ein choose Gnome and not KDE).

Problem: Time and date is not shown on menu bar, though when I click on the battery symbol in the menu bar there is a checkmark at the entry "Show time in menu bar".

When I go to "System Settings" > "Time and Date" > "Clock" all fields are inactive, that is, it is impossible to click on them.

Note, it still worked yesterday. Some days ago I played around with the country settings in the locale file but I changed them back to original settings and anyway there were no problems with clock and date in the menu bar right afer this. The problem first ocurred today.

    Any ideas what's wrong?

    Thx

    Solved, see:

Well, the "add event" button still doesn't work ... but at least time and date are shown in the menu bar.

In Ubuntu 13.10, some indicators (usually datetime) sometimes are not displayed when logging in. It is a bug that has been solved, and soon should land in our systems.

I think the fix has now been pushed to our systems.

Not for me. I had to use a quick fix from this thread, which worked nicely.
