Gee! These Aren't Roasted!
Is anybody else having recent trouble with Firefox for Linux and Hotmail? Within the last 24 hours or so I suddenly cannot write/reply any messages. No cursor ever appears in the writing window. Firefox/Hotmail still works fine on my Windows 7 machine.
I made no changes to Firefox configuration or system configuration prior to the problem appearing. I have already tried disabling all add-ons. That did not solve it.
OS is Ubuntu 12.04 with the current Firefox (25).

I finally found a thread which seems to describe the same problem I've been having. Unfortunately, the one solution offered does not seem too useful in the current version of Hotmail. I'm still curious if anyone else on Ubuntu/Firefox/Hotmail has run into this recently. I have not yet been able to determine why Firefox on Win7 is working while Firefox on Ubuntu is not.

I have multi versions of Ubuntu on my computers and they all work with FF and hotmail.

Hmm. Starting to sound more and more like it's just me. I just can't think of anything that I did or changed prior to it not working. Maybe I'll try reinstalling Firefox.

Clean out all your history and cookies first. Then shut down FF and try it again.
