Since I installed the latest version of JDK, I can no longer run applets. The applet will ask me if I want to run it, and there is a message box that says:
This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute. Please contact the Publisher for more information.
and when I click Continue, the applet doesn't load, and the error message is:
Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar: applet.jar
I can't run any of the applets I usually use because of this. For example, I regularly use chemspider:
http://www.chemspider.com/StructureSearch.aspx
but now it won't work at all. Is there any way to fix this myself (as opposed to the web admin fixing the issues in the applet)? I'm gonna try installing openJDK and see if that will run applets.
