Ubuntu 12.04 update to kernel 126.96.36.199.65 and AMD Catalyst Control
My PC did an update the other evening including adding in kernel 188.8.131.52.65. The system froze during the installation of the kernel and there was no option but to restart. The update recommenced an all appeared well. When I boot to the new kernel the screen has moving horizontal lines and some of the options such as resize the Unity side panel are gone. I had to reconfigure AMD Calalyst Control settings with only some success.
When I revert to the older kernel all is well.

Is there an issue with this kernel and the AMD Catalyst setup?
