    Vendor Specific Support Areas

I am curious why the forums currently has special areas for System76, Asus and Dell, but not forum for Lenovo or HP. I would think that it would make more sense to merge them... perhaps an area for laptop specific issues, but the vendor areas might be best merged.

We were asked by Canonical to include these sub-forums. The moderators in those sub-forums are chosen by the manufacturer. We really don't have much to do with them other than monitor them for trolls and spam.

Are there really Apple employees answering questions in the Apple Sub-Forum?

Installing Ubuntu on Apple hardware has always been a particular process. The Apple sub-forum has been around from way before the manufacturer forums were set up. It is better to separate these questions and discussions as they do not directly relate to installing Ubuntu on any other hardware.

    | Using a ppa ? Please install ppa-purge from universe, you may need it should you want to revert packages back |

That is true... Apple tries their best to lock down their hardware.
