    Slip of mind again.., forgot "psmouse". The commands should be -

    sudo modprobe -rv psmouse
sudo modprobe -v psmouse proto=imps
    Please try that while I take a look at the logs you posted.

    EDIT:
    And please post back the output of -
    Code:
    grep -R [[:alnum:]] /sys/module/psmouse/parameters
    again, after running the corrected command. There was no output because the module psmouse was removed, but not loaded again (thanks to my award-winning typos).

    Have you installed anything recently? (Programs can sometimes have an effect on the touch pad)

    What about trying Fn+F7. It might be a different button for you though (check the symbols). Common mistake.
