    Ubuntu/Xubuntu 13.10, two audio issues

    Hello,

Yesterday I upgraded to Xubuntu 13.10 and since then I'm having two audio issues.

On the one one hand, the speaker indicator is not working, although I have two audio devices working.

On the other hand, the ESI U46DJ is now recognized as a Surround device, which it isn't.

Besides, if I turn on the ESI after booting to Ubuntu/Xubuntu, only the inputs are recognized. I need to turn it on before booting to Ubuntu/Xubuntu.

Before upgrading to 13.10 the U46DJ was perfectly recognized and worked like a charm.

    Any ideas?

    Regards.

Thanks, Toz. I'll try the workaround.
