Two time indicators in Gnome Classic

Hello. I'm using Gnome Classic on Ubuntu 13.04, and have everything working pretty much as I want with one exception: the time appears twice in the indicator area at the right of the top panel (once on its own and once in the calendar indicator). I can remove the calendar/time indicator to leave only the time but I can't remove the time indication to leave only the calendar/time indicator. I also can't remove the time from the calendar indicator.

Apart from the aesthetics, my top panel is very full and I need to reclaim the extra space used by the duplicate time indication. To make it stranger, when I installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my laptop I ws able the duplicate time problem didn't arise.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks for your reply. Actually I just decided to remove the calendar indicator, as I can easily get the calendar by clicking the time.
