I use virtual machines often in full screen dual monitor mode. Since I moved to Ubuntu 13.10, whenever my VM is in fullscreen mode, I cannot access dash when I switch to another workspace (i.e. the ubuntu desktop). When I attempt to access dash (by clikcing the super key or mouse) it flashes open then closes immediately. Has anyone else been having this issue?
same thing happens for me, but i found a way to get it working: click somewhere on the desktop of the monitor which does not have the fullscreen vbox on it, then press "super" and the "s" keys together to open the workspace switcher, press them again to exit and see if the dash works. it fixes it for me. btw, clicking the workspace switcher icon in the unity launcher while the vbox session is still in fullscreen mode, breaks it. repeating above procedure fixes it again.

Thanks Fooman. I just tried it with my laptop monitor and it works. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it tomorrow at work where I have the second monitor. I'll look for a bug reprt on this. If one doesn't exist, I'll create it. I appreciate the feedback and help.
glad it helped!
I've filed a bug with the steps needed to re-produce the issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1240016 If you are experiencing this bug, please click on the "this bug affects..." link
Wouldn't it be better to report virtual box bugs upstream here? https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker
