hardware selection advice
Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if this question has been asked.
I'm looking to upgrade my recording studio (used for podcasting and recording audiobooks). Currently I have a Blue Yeti usb mic and go directly into my Ubuntu Studio PC. What I'm wanting to do is add a mixer and external sound card into the setup. I know I won't find a mixer that will accept my USB Yeti, so I will probably have to purchase the pro version of that mic (for XLR). With that said, would this hardware setup work:
Yeti Pro > Behringer Xenyx 802 > Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
The reason I am doing this is because my on board sound card doesn't play well with Pulseaudio or Alsa -- lots of skipping on recording and playback.
Any thoughts/advice would very much be appreciated.
Re: hardware selection advice
Since you mention Bheringher why not go for USB variant of the same mixer? Not sure if it is suported, but if it is you can skip the soundcard.
Since you record just one input why mixer+external sound card? External sound cards ussualy have pre-amps which is enough for mic. So skip the mixer.
