Angry How to change the font colors in Software Center?

Ever since I updated to 13.04, the Software Center is completely unreadable, with white text on white background, and it's only possible to sort-of read the text on the opening screen because that's the only place where font shadows are used.

    I have changed themes.
    I have disabled themes.
I have tried Gnome Colors Theme Configurator
I have tried Gnome Color Chooser
    I have tried dconf
I have changed the settings in Gnome Tweak Tool
I have changed everything I have seen anywhere about changing the colors of fonts, to actually readable colors.

EVERY OTHER application I have, respects my changes. Not so with the Software Center.

Do I need to manually change the configuration files for Software Center, or have I overlooked something?

Re: How to change the font colors in Software Center?

I'm not using Unity currently, but I remember that there was a .css file that could be edited. Unfortunately, this file, being a system file, would be modified with each update to USC.

I'll search for the link and post it here if I find it although that would be a link relevant to ~12.04 and possibly irrelevant now ...

If you're comfortable editing .css files, see this thread related with 12.04.

Why not go to synaptic and completely remove it (by rt clicking it in list) then reinstall? Worth a try anyway.

Thank you, finally able to see what Software Center says.

Not exactly what I wanted, but it'll do.

    Changed the CSS-code as per vasa1 and Slickymaster's link(s)

I hate light themes. My computer is not a Fisher-Price toy, Canonical!

BTW: Unity is nowhere near my laptop. Every single time a new release is out, I try it for two weeks. Install scopes, lenses, read blog-posts about how to use and change it, and every single time, the answer is the same: Unity is the second worst Desktop Environment I have ever tried, only second to Windows 8.
