    Can't push their luck with it. If it's not darn near perfect, you can just imagine how much "see, we told you so" they would get.

    No kidding. 'outstanding technical difficulties' ?? The recent beta probably obsoleted 1/3rd their user base due to graphical hardware obsoletion, unless you want them to run Lucid which no longer has security updates. Why they put that genie back in the bottle I'll never know.

    It might explain why my two saucy installs running unity system compositor broke leaving me with a black screen instead of a login screen. It is my guess that the issue has more to do with Lightdm than with xmir or unity system compositor. It is sensible not to push to get the full Mir setup into 14.04 especially as it is an LTS. And I accept that the focus must be at this time on Ubuntu Touch. Perhaps this "setback" will bring the testing of full Mir on the desktop closer. I am referring to the Mir that replaces Xserver, Lightdm and Compiz instead of bits of Mir. May be this is something for the rolling development branch.
