I have just installed Ubuntu Gnome daily image 18092013. Chromium is in the Software Centre both in the live session and in the installed desktop. I have not installed Ubuntu Gnome since July. This was a slick install. I like the change of background image from blue curtains to grey with water droplets that are in a similar pattern to the gnome footprint image. Ubuntu Gnome developers are doing a great job.

It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

I search for Google Chrome Linux and install Google Chrome itself. Somewhere there are hints that Chromium lags Google Chrome, and may not use some of the proprietary drivers. I've run both Chromium and Google Chrome and prefer the latter.

Now Google Chrome/Chromium are want to do a "He's Dead, Jim" unexpectedly. This is Firefox doesn't do that.

My reason for using Chrome whatever is sharing bookmarks between netbook, notebook, tower, Chromebook, Nook, Samsung tablet, .... which is not in the cards for Firefox.

Also, Chromexxx is much better at filling in internet petitions and such than firefox.

So I use both google chrome and firefox on ubuntu.

BTW when I do frequent apt-get updates for saucy it updates google chrome stable (or beta) as well.

what has any of that got to do with not finding a package in USC?

There may be other ways to get the package instead of waiting for ubuntu development to eventually maybe fix the bug.

and I could repeat my last post

If there was in fact a problem with USC, then wandering off somewhere else to get some package doesn't help that at all does it - at least not with the problem at hand.

That's dealing with a symptom not an illness.
