    Trouble Getting Wine

    Hello,
I am extremely new to Linux and Ubuntu. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 on a computer from a flash drive. I am trying to download Wine and get it to run windows .exe files. The computer I am using does not have an internet connection yet. However, I do have another computers with Windows XP on it that does have internet (hence why I am able to post this.) Can anyone help me through exactly what files to download and run?

    Thanks to all!

    Moved to Wine.

It would help to mention which Windows apps you want to run, since not all of them will work under Wine. You can check Wine's app database here.

You install Wine in the same manner as installing any other application, through the package manager. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingSoftware and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wine

    Hello and Welcome

I can send you to this link, but can't give you a full list of dependencies for 12.04 because I am running 13.04 and it won't be the same . If you have the synaptic package manager installed it does supply a list in the applications properties.

I would endevor to get your Ubuntu install connected to the internet if possible. There's alot of updates out for 12.04 that it would be painfull to manually download and transfer all of them.
