Question Why my CPU still jam at 100%?

    Hi,

I'm new here, (new Linux user)
and my english is not very good, because I'm a french canadian...

I installed Lubuntu on an old Toshiba Satellite 1900 (Pen 4, 512 Meg of RAM).

Lubuntu is very slow, because the cpu is still running at 100%.
But the applications do not use 100% of the cpu.

So why the cpu running at 100%?

    Thanks in advance..

I suggest you use top in terminal not the task manager to get a better idea of what is using resources.

You can use upper case P to sort by cpu usage and upper case M to sort by memory usage, and that may give you a better idea of what is going on.
