RIP. It served us well.
I only used it in the past for w32codecs, but now gst and ffmpeg more or less can play almost anything, and many Windows audio and video codecs of the past are not in use anymore, while libdvdcss' maintenance has been handed over already to others; so I think we will survive this..
I am curious if this will affect Ubuntu Studio also?

Ubuntu Studio handles libdvdcss install just like the other Ubuntu derivatives: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...s#AddlibdvdccsUbuntu Studio does not use libdvdcss.
..which means that once the install script gets fixed in older versions, the medibuntu closure will be transparent to users.
ffmpeg/libav-extra packages are now available in the main repos.dvdstyler and kino need that ffmpeg
Changed already in saucy, SRU's for other releases that may or may not occur
