    Auto Screen Brightness via Webcam

    Hi Guys

    I did a search for this but everything was either a few years old or specific to Apple machines;

    So, as the title suggests I am after a way to have the screen brightness auto adjust based on the reading (light level) provided by the webcam, so dark environment dim the screen and up the brightness when its very light etc. I also have a MacBook Air so if anyone has any experience with those will know what I am after.

    Is there anyway this can be done?

    Thanks
    Rob

    Have you had a look at calise - it sounds like what you're looking for.

    EDIT: There is an ubuntu PPA available for it as well. See here: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/06/calis...-based-on.html
