Cavsfan, I LOVE your conky. Could you post it somewhere or send me a private message with the rc and any special LUAs if you are using any?

Cinnamon, with Plank, looking very Gnome-Shellish.

Lately I've been toying with a distro that gives me both a base and a desktop environment I absolutely love. After having continual KDE test-drives followed by endless frustration and Gnome spells fueled with a few quirks that I just couldn't swallow, I ended up on Elementary OS. Their Pantheon layout is top notch. Having Ubuntu as the base is a solid bonus as PPAs work without an issue. It's fast, works decently on older hardware, and has actually lessened the amount of clicks/keys needed in my previously favorite desktop environment, Gnome 3.8. Plus the community and development team being awesome is a pretty nice bonus as well.

I have a modern looking, clean, and very efficient desktop environment while retaining a lot of the features in Gnome that I thoroughly enjoyed.

    Hmmmm...

Well, too big to upload here.

Three monitors. Stock photo of clouds, blue sky changed to black with stars and image of Mrs. QIII and me (many, many years ago!) added from snapshot using GIMP.

The conky is something I have been working on. Have more to go. The ring colors were sampled from Mrs. QIII's dress.

Re: The Aesthetic September Screenshot Thread

    Hi there!
After a large (~1 1/2 months) Windows hibernation, I'm back to the Linux world. I decided that I needed stability because I'm basically going to use this for programming (Python, Ruby, test Java things made in Windows and perhaps some Mono tests). So I went with... Debian!
I never installed Debian before. Perhaps because of the iwlwifi darn drivers. But a nice guy in #debian pointed me to an unofficial ISO which comes with the non-free firmware. That's cool!
I saw here than VinDSL is using GNOME Shell 3.9. I'm using... 3.4 Yes, that's what scares some people of Debian, but it's worth the stability!
All what I have done so far is:
    • Create .fonts.conf file to set a proper font rendering.
    • Some minor tweaking

And some information you -or my future me- might like to know:
    • Window Theme: Adwaita Cupertino DzaDze
    • Shell Theme: Mountain Shell (I'm having some kinda weird problem, the on/off switchers aren't showing for some reason but I'll find a workaround)
    • Icon Theme: Faience Azur
    • GTK Theme: Adwaita Cupertino DzaDze

    So beautiful!
