    Unhappy X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)

    Hello,

    I am trying to run PyMol on Ubuntu 13.04.

    However, I get this error:

    Code:
    con@con-Inspiron-3521:~$ pymol
    X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
      Major opcode of failed request: 154 (GLX)
      Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
      Serial number of failed request: 22
      Current serial number in output stream: 22
     PyMOL: abrupt program termination.
    I have found numerous people who have had similar problems (http://askubuntu.com/questions/17574...such-operation and others)

    However, these solutions don't apply for this computer because this has an Intel driver, not ATI or AMD:

    Code:
    con@con-Inspiron-3521:~$ lspci | grep VGA
    00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
    I also ran here https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads but after downloading all of these updates, nothing came of it.

    Also this solution found here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...8#post11600468 did not work:

    Code:
     $ sudo update-alternatives --config x86_64-linux-gnu_gl_conf
    $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-dri libgl1-mesa-glx
    $ sudo ldconfig
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Can you show /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and use the code tags because it's long)?

    Re: X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation

    The log looks good. I'm thinking the issue is with pymol. I tried running it in my Raring VM, and it was okay.

    Re: X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation

    For reasons I do not know, this error is no longer present and I can use PyMol.

    Thanks for your help, though!
