Everquest II (and possibly Everquest Next) work in Ubuntu?

I have played World of Warcraft before in an older version of Ubuntu but I haven't tried it in a while but I will give it a try in 13.04. I haven't went and installed Everquest II ever but wondering if anyone has and how it plays. My PC is fairly powerful and it played very well in the mid 40s for frames in Windows. I hope it will work in Ubuntu.

There are youtube-videos of EQ2 running on Ubuntu 8.xx, looks promising, fps-wise.

Everquest 2 runs very well under Ubuntu 13.04, but all I have is an nVidia card to base my experiences off of. I've installed and played it under PlayOnLinux/Wine and also Crossover. Both work equally well. If you have any questions about EQ2 under wine i'll try to help out. I have a similar system to what you have minus the video card.

Yes it works. I Installed EQ2 using POL with the streaming client. As for the wine version, on POL it says System. Using another version creates the famous font error.

Currently, I have an Intel 64 system with ATI HD 5600.

Although, the game installs well the game play lags during combat. I’m still trying to figure this out.
