Accidentally made a new account instead of merging with old account

I messed up when configuring Ubuntu SSO and accidentally created a new account instead of merging with my existing one. My old account was Zachs-Kappler, it either had <snip> assigned to it for an email address. I had recently made the move to GMail for convenience since everything I currently use plugs into my Google account. I can confirm any information about my old account if it helps.

Your account uses the first email address you posted, which I have removed for safety. Change your SSO primary email to that to log into your account. Once you've logged in, you can change your SSO primary email address to anything you want.

After setting my SSO primary email address to what it originally was for the old account, it still logs me in as jet-metalsonic500 and it will not let me change the email address for this forum account because it is in use. Anything else I can try?

I disassociated the accounts - log out and back in.
I haven't verified email addresses yet.
[edit]I'm not seeing a Zachs-Kappler account - found a Zachs Kappler, though
