    hardware vs virtual environment

Does ubuntu run faster if installed onto hardware then if it is running virtually through vmplayer?

I am running through vm right now and it does have a lag.

    thank you

The lag might be from the graphics drivers. Ubuntu will run faster on hardware natively, but you should also be able to run it in a virtual machine without discernable lag. Try installing the "extras" or "addons" in the guest for your virtual machine software if they exist.

ok cool thanks. i will see if i can install any extras. Only problem is i need to change where vmplayer is installing the addons and updates because my main drive is full but my secondary is wide open. haha
