I've tried twice now to get this to work in 12.04 LTS. Latest attempt was installing "pulseaudio-equalizer_2.7.0.2-2~webupd8~oneiric3_all" from a deb. But every time I check the 'EQ Enabled' box, the sound gets incredibly faint and distorted.
