With „proposed“ turned on it is moving forward:
    Code:
     The following packages will be REMOVED: activity-log-manager-common xserver-xorg-input-all xserver-xorg-input-synaptics xserver-xorg-video-all xserver-xorg-video-ati xserver-xorg-video-cirrus xserver-xorg-video-mach64 xserver-xorg-video-r128
The following NEW packages will be installed:
      libgc1c2
The following packages have been kept back:
      libmirserver0 unity-system-compositor usb-modeswitch-data
The following packages will be upgraded:
      activity-log-manager apparmor compiz compiz-core compiz-gnome compiz-plugins compiz-plugins-default compizconfig-settings-manager gir1.2-gudev-1.0 guile-2.0-libs libapparmor-perl libapparmor1 libcompizconfig0 libdecoration0 libgudev-1.0-0 libpam-systemd libqt4-dbus libqt4-declarative libqt4-designer libqt4-help libqt4-network

Re: New xorg-server 1.14.1 has arrived

Today I got 1.14.2, I tried with todays daily kernel but nvidia-325 didn't build(header error). So, I tried with 3.10.0-2 from the repos instead and nvidia-325 did build allright, so now I'm running Xorg 1.14.2 with the latest Nvidia-blob

    There are several ways...

    I installed xserver-xephyr & xserver-common, via the edger's PPA, using Synaptic.

xserver-xorg-core is available on the edger's PPA also, but it wants to strip my system to bare-bones.

Put another way, I did a partial install (which I don't recommend, if you're new to testing).

At this point, I'm trying to figure out a way to force xserver-xorg-core, without wiping out my install...

I'm watching for it in Ricotz's PPAs.

    SOURCE: https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+ppa-packages

He's got a wayland-enabled version in 'unstable' right now.

The Edger's version has dependency issues on this machine...

    with „proposed“ enabled...
Still waiting for *-all packages to be build right... It is improving... Nevertheless, I do have almost everything already from Ricotz at right version...
Just remove these stupid harmfull meta packages:
    - xserver-xorg-input-all
    - xserver-xorg-video-all

Look at the amount of different input and video drivers you have installed.
Then, see which of them you actually need or even "can" make use of (nouveau, tdfx, siliconmotion, s3, openchrome, neomagic, mga and on and on). Remove them.
I have "proposed" enabled, fully updated setup, and I have absulutely no issues with xserver 1.14.1 ATM).
