Any reference to cylinder boundary does not matter. Hard drives have not used cylinders since hard drive went over 8GB. Back then we had to manually set in BIOS CHS or cylinders, heads, sectors. They converted to LBA or large block allocation.
New 4K drives work much better if the boundary is on 8 sector setting which all new partitions tools do. But if you have Vista and older drives that does not matter either.

If you do not have any other access to Windows repair disks, you could download the legal copy of Windows and install it. It gives you 30 days before you have to pay, but then you either pay or uninstall.

Did you try EasyBCD or any of the other Windows repair tools?
