Check out the Linux/Ubuntu mag's at your local big box book store, they are always stuffed with complimentary CD's filled with all the latest and greatest Linux distro's and free software.

I'm not familiar with those towns but is there a public library where you could use its network connection to download? I imagine - never tried it though - that using the free WiFi at some place like a truck stop or Starbucks or McDonalds to download an .iso file would take quite a while.
