Want to change boot order but no menu.lst to edit

I'm running 12.04LTS on a dual boot PC and would like to change the GRUB boot order menu but there is no menu.lst to edit.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks.

    Hi rojrevo.

I'd recommend taking a look at Boot-Repair. One of the options is to set the default OS. Details here.

Let us know how it goes.

We now have Grub 2 which does things differently from what is now called Grub legacy.

It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.
