    WI-FI connected but unable to browse on ubuntu 12.04 lts using hp mini

    Hello experts,

    I am posting because I cannot browse the internet on wi-fi anymore, which used to work fine, while WICD does connect to my network. Also, I am able to use the same wi-fi network on my cellphone. I have searched on google extensively (using my cellphone) for a solution, tried some things, and still nothing. Also, I don't know much about internet or linux in general. So I'm hoping someone here can figure out the problem.

    The sticky-topic said to post as much information as I can, so I added below the result of recommended commands. I am kind of desperate, so any help is greatly appreciated.

    I am using the HP Mini netbook.

    Also, it might be important that I have been running wicd for awhile after removing NetworkManager, but on my quest for a solution I found out that there were still networkmanager-gnome-related processes running. I "purged" the entire network-manager and network-manager-chrome package yesterday, which didn't help.

    thank you. i did as you said, but no luck. This I have also tried before. The fields DNS Domain and Search Domain i left empty though, not sure what to do there. Turned wifi off and on and reconnected. Same errors in browser though. Ping www.google.com stil says unknown host, and pinging google's IP address takes forever and still 100% package loss...
