    Ubuntu 12.04 Freezes

Every once in a while, like every three or four days, all my windows in Ubuntu 12.04 will freeze in place. The mouse is still able to move aroumd, but clicking it doesn't do anything. It stays that way until I reboot (though I have generally rebooted within a couple of minutes, so perhaps if I waited long enough it would unfreeze).

I re-installed 12.04. After the re-install, I had a different version of firefox, with the "File Edit View ..." buttons on the individual windows rather than at the top of the screen, but this didn't seem to make any difference. It still freezes.

    Re: Ubuntu 12.04 Freezes

I might try upgrading to 12.10, but I don't see how to accomplish this. The "Ubuntu Software Center" doesn't have any buttons for upgrade visible, and searching in it for "upgrade" and "12.10" doesn't reveal a path.
