Creating a new forum for a new hardware vendor ?

    Hi!

We are setting up a business that will sell Ubuntu equipped machines. (A bit like System 76, but in Switzerland). We are here : http://www.whyopencomputing.ch/ .

We'd like to know how we can proceed to have, just like System 76 does, a section in the Ubuntu Specialised Support forums, here on Ubuntu Forums.

We are structured to have strong community based support, and user servicing guides on ifixit.com. The aim of the company is community support for long lasting machines. So being present on ubuntuforums.org makes a lot of sense for us.

    How should we procede?

    Thanks,
    Gilles.

Re: Creating a new forum for a new hardware vendor ?

    I've moved this here.

As an admin I would not want to be doing this, purely because if we let one then everyone's going to want the same, much the same as has happened here.

Now, regarding the System 76 sub-forum - we have inherited that - I've no idea how it was arranged in the dim past nor who it was arranged with. Just the same as the forum for Ubuntu Studio. Certainly the second of those I see no reason to have a seperate forum for - but we work with what we've got.

I do know that the Asus and Dell subforums were requested by Canonical to the Forum Council in some way.

Perhaps approach them or the Community Council.

    Hi!

Thanks for the blunt, if negative answer. I'll ask Canonical their advice and what they think we should do about this.
