I am looking for a small OS

    Hello everybody,

I'm looking for a small operating system.
It should work with a very old laptop.
    Can you recommend me something?
(I have used puppy linux already. but this crashes all the time...)

    Thank you for your answers!

Not knowing much about your computer or what you'll be using it for I'd say give Tiny CorePlus a try. It's only 65MB and if you're going to run a WiFi connection it will find it pretty fast, or at least on my machine it does. The other small Linux OS like Damnsmall and Puppy didn't find my WiFi and looked to be a PITA to set up WiFi with.
You can download Firefox to web browsing to.
You can check it out here:

You may have luck with Bodhi...It's always looked pretty sweet to me and it's an exceptionally lightweight OS. But seeing as this is an Ubuntu forum. Lubuntu is a good call.

Lubuntu might be for you. Try it.

A very good Wiki page exists here also.

Check out the link that I posted about the different desktop environments and what's needed to run them. I'd say Bodhi using Enlightenment or something using LXDE would be a good choice since they don't take much to run. Either way I'm sure there's a version of Linux that'll work great on your system, just need to figure out which one.

Try Crunchbang Linux, it should work well on your comp.
