    ethernet connection used?

    Hello,

I left my laptop briefly unattended while I used the restroom at a coffee shop. I asked the owner to keep an eye on the machine for me. Later, I wanted to see what type of encryption they were using on their wireless, so I went to network manager. To my surprise, the network manager told me that the last time ethernet was used was '2 hours ago' but I never use ethernet, only wireless... Is this cause for concern? Could someone have tried something funny while I was gone? I cant remember if I left the machine off or locked when I left it unattended. Thanks!

Even if the machine was locked, Ubuntu has no running services by default, so you should be fine unless you installed something like VNC.

When you say "later", was it about two hours after you booted your laptop?

I only ask, because the "last used" is most likely referring to the startup script when you booted.

    Hello,

Yes, I think thats what it was. Sorry I had not checked in, I was busy. It does seem to be the startup script. Thanks!
