If you need a replacement xfburn is nice and light (gets the job done). If you like bells and whistles k3b is excellent and reliable.

i need to be able to compress my dvd iso images so that they fit on standard 4.7gb dvd+/-. I am not able to compress using K3B. And it is seeing all my movies as 6.5gb or higher. This is a feature that k9copy does. can you recommend a comparable app?

OK, turns out that you can also rip in VLC.
