How should one keep thread active?

    Hello!

I'm sure I'll post a lot for a while for various reasons. OK, let's say I made a thread about something but didn't really get answer(s) I was looking for, or I have further questions. And let's assume I made the last post.
How do I made this particular thread active?! So it doesn't vanish by being on 3rd, 15th page...

    Bump it.

It's allowable to bump threads, as long as you only bump once every 24 hours or so.

Is this the only way to make thread again active by waiting 24h and posting "bump"?

Since this is a global community you may find that if you don't get any hits on your first 24 hr bump, a 36 hour one will change the time zones where your post will be towards the top.

Sorry, I didn't understand what you meant. Can you explain it in other words?

    If you bump a thread

Now - those people viewing the forum now will see it

Bump it later than 24 hours and a different set of people will see it

I would assume you can also bump a thread regardless of time limits, if you have newer information relevant to the problem.
So, for example, the first post gave some info, and then 5 hours later, you learned something new about the problem, you could post the new info, so those who might help, or otherwise, will have the most to work with.
