my freshly-installed raring ringtail can't read my USB! Help please!

please help me! back then i used ubuntu studio. but i felt using ubuntu studio is like burning my laptop, so i planned to change my OS into Raring Ringtail. I saved my important data to my usb before i install raring ringtail. but now raring ringtail can't open it! i used gparted and when i check my usb, it's listed as unallocated. please help me! i should retrieve the data on my usb. it contain picture of my deceased dad and my job's file. sorry for bad grammar

well thanks god i dunno how come but it seems now raring ringtail can read my usb after i ctrl+alt+T and type lsusb, pull my usb, and plug it again. Sorry for multiple thread before. i submit my thread back then, but it loading like forever. i tought my internet connection is in problem so i open another tab and re-post my thread again. Thanky you.
