Re: Permission denied/ command not found
If you are new, stick to Ubuntu Software Center (or apt-get) until you have more experience.
When you try to run a program in the terminal and it gives "Permission Denied" you need to give the file execute permission.
To reduce "file not found" typing mistakes, try dragging the file into the terminal instead of typing its name or path.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
