picking file system and aligning disk

I am building my first file server that will host around 40TB of data so I would like to ask. What file system should I go with EXT4 or XFS also how important is it to align your disk in 4k chunks? I have did some research and a lot out there are saying go with EXT4 also a lot said to go with ZFS however seems like ZFS is a ram hog.

Ext4 is the most powerfull/stable file system right now (even some other seems having future). 4k chunk is the default with actual linux
