    Getting A New Power Supply

So the cord for my Pangolin Preformance's power supply has broken inside the casing right near the plug that goes into the laptop. I opened a support ticket and they want me to send the laptop in for repair. However, I feel it would be faster and easier to simply buy a new A/C adapter, but I can't find any information about what I should get. So any advice? Also, why do they want me to send the whole laptop in just to replace the power supply? It seems a waste of time and money, to me.

Has it broken off inside the power port on the laptop?

If you can find another adapter with the same voltage and amps, it should be ok. I've known a few people who have done that because their adapters get broken or worn out.

On the outside the cord is completely in tact. There is just a break in the wire itself. And the thing is, all of the other chargers that I have access to have a different size plug. That's the thing I was wondering about the specifics of.

Looking at a picture of it, makes the it seem almost as big as the power port on my HP laptop, so a generic replacement should work, if you are able to find the voltage/amps from the current cord.

Otherwise contact their support and see if they can give you details on what size/type of power pack it needs.

I know that it's too small for the Dell cord and one replacement cord we have right now. But it seems like the support guy thought that the port on the laptop was broken and not the cord (not sure why), so it looks like I won't be sending it in after all. Thanks for the input.
